YAMULKAN
Two steps from the beach...
Yamulkan is a spacious and attractive beach house, the perfect space for friends and family in search of
a sophisticated but comfortable retreat, on the white sand beach on Soliman Bay.
Yamulkan is a sturdy stucco beach house (sleeps up to 12 + 2 in the Casita guest house). The main level includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining area which leads onto the living area, a TV room / studio, 2 ample bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a comfortable big living room.
This area opens to a lovely beachside terrace spanning the main level. The very spacious open-air terrace, with its coconut trees and local palms, is furnished for outdoor dining and comfortable lounging. The main level is spacious and airy, furnished with rich hardwoods. Yamulkan sits just forty feet from the water's edge on the gorgeous sand beach of Soliman Bay. This large crescent-shaped bay with its amazing aquamarine waters is home to only private beach homes and is never crowded.
An outer barrier reef protects the bay, keeping the water calm and making a perfect haven for tropical fish, manta rays and other marine life. Soliman Bay is therefore excellent for snorkeling and sea kayaking.
Details of the house
The Beach
The shady beach palapa (four meters from the edge of the terrace) is fitted with two large hammocks, a wooden bench and as many lounge chairs and small tables as required.
The Terraces
Large sliding doors in the living room lead out to this area, with its large attractive tables and chairs for alfresco meals with a view of the beach and the water, as well as two padded lounge chairs with super sea view for afternoon siestas. This leads onto the large open-air terrace fringed with coconut palms and the native palms, with a large stone barbecue, several comfortable lounge chairs and occasional tables, and the outdoor shower… also a large chest containing a collection of used flotation devices and snorkeling paraphernalia.
The Porch
Reached via an external wooden staircase or from the upstairs bedrooms, this ample porch with its tropical wood floor, covered by the palapa roof, runs the whole width of the house on the side facing the beach, with an ample view of the bay. Good for lounging, reading, playing cards and table games, it has a hammock, two mahogany loungers, and a table and chairs.
An area containing the Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen
This area soars up two levels and is flooded with light from a large skylight, giving it a spacious and airy feeling.
The very sturdy dining room table, made of hard tropical wood, sits 12. There are three stools by the kitchen counter. The living room, with sofa, coffee tables and two equipal armchairs, leads out into the covered terrace.
TV Room / Studio, with two sofas that turn into beds and a large desk for guest laptops
With lamps, 2 sofas (comfortable for sleeping), overhead fan, air conditioning, a TV and DVD player, a writing desk running the whole width of the room, with office chair… also the wireless modem and a telephone. The window looks out onto the terrace, the beach and the sea. Can double as a bedroom. There is a bathroom just outside the door, off the dining room.
